"Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust." M.L. King, Jr.

"I am born and raised in New York City and know the hardships we are going through: increase in crime due to laws that embolden and empower criminals; the adverse effects of illegal immigrants overwhelming our communities; the threat the "City of Yes" poses to Queens' property owners connected with State legislators underlying plan to create "15-minute cities” with total disregard of the extreme adverse effects it will have on our communities; the NY State Education Department's imposition of poisonous ideologies starting from kindergarten; the State's deceitful initiative to amend the NY State Constitution with its real goal to undermine parental authority... the list goes on and on and on...
Enough is enough!

Take the first step toward making what our neighborhoods should be: a safe and thriving haven for all. And to restore our schools to a thriving, wholesome learning environment for our children.
I'll work to ensure those who live, work, and visit Queens are safe, and that our neighborhoods are preserved and continuously protected. And that our schools are places for learning and not centers for indoctrination and not used to promote the agenda of the State.
Let us together defend our neighborhoods and bring them back to life!"

Juan is formerly educated in Criminal Justice and will bring his education and experience as well as his personal connection to our neighborhoods to keep our focus on crime and safety.

CHILDREN OUR FUTURE

Juan has been for many years closely involved with children, coaching and mentoring them in wholesome directions. He was the director of two cherished NYC children's centers and a guidance counselor with the NYS Division for Youth. He will ensure our kids have the best representation.

Juan visits elementary school children every Friday morning at a local public school to read to them and sing songs accompanied with his guitar.

Juan, an accomplished guitarist, performed at many cultural events throughout New York City.

Culture, diversity, commerce: Juan has a platform to support all of these critical aspects of community life. For example, Juan has been a musician since childhood and understands the importance of the arts. He will promote arts & culture in our communities and in our schools.

Juan with his granddaughter, Elena, on her first day of school.

When I think about my granddaughter, I wonder what kind of world will she live in once I'm gone. It will be the kind of world we leave to her. She will know my legacy, that I fought very hard to make this world a better place for her and the rest of humanity.

New York City has had a dismal history of low voter turnout. By reaching out to our youth, particularly those attending high school, we can begin to increase voter turn out while teaching our youth to research candidates before making their decision at the ballot box.

Downsizing and closures of certified nursing homes and medical facilities are depriving our senior citizens and those with disabilities of beds they need. We need to preserve whatever nursing home beds and medical facilities are left in our district and in our neighboring districts throughout Queens, and for the sake of our elders, create more long-term care facilities.
